The candle arch is a popular Christmas decoration. It is closely associated with the mines in the Ore Mountains. Many artisans in and around the toy village of Seiffen have candle arches with a wide variety of motifs in their range. The Müller Kleinkunst company produces impressively large candle arches, which are mostly available in limited editions.
Christmas arch motif "Seiffen village"
These candle arches include the "Seiffen village" in natural and with a considerable size of 103 cm. Seiffen, known as a toy village, is famous as a smithy for Erzgebirge folk art. Before Christmas, the village appears to visitors as a single manufactory. The Seiffen mountain church is famous above all for its architecture. The church was modeled on the Frauenkirche in Dresden. The small mountain church therefore adorns this candle arch in the center of the arch. The church is enthroned above the village on a slightly raised base. The town hall (right) and the old school (left) of the village are important landmarks and line the church, which is just a stone's throw away from the buildings. The lanterns in front of the church shine with warm light. Two typical miners' cottages complete the picture of the toy village.
Candle arch shows the tradition of the Kurrende
The protected design element, the cloud arch, sweeps delicately across the view. Four filigree chip trees protrude between the buildings. With the help of exquisite woods such as lime and sipo, an impressive scenery is created. In addition, carol singers stand in front of the Seiffen church, who have opened their hymnbooks, to proclaim the good news of the birth of Jesus Christ in song. With a lantern and the Star of Bethlehem, a singer stands in the middle at the very front. Kurren singers still parade through the village today, bringing pre-Christmas joy to the elderly and sick in particular with their singing. Their costume consists of a dark coat with a white collar and a headdress.
The candle arch impresses with its atmospheric light
This beautiful Christmas decoration is illuminated with nine electric ripple candles, which are located around the arch. Warm light also emanates from the houses and the church as well as the lanterns, this creates a particularly cozy atmosphere, which makes Christmas more festive. This arch of lights is sure to delight, your family and guests and get them in the mood for Christmas.
